Group History
About Houston Area #1 Harley Owners Group
Houston Area #1 is the name of our local chapter 5079 of the national Harley
Owners Group, or H.O.G.. The local chapter can only exist
through the sponsorship of an authorized Harley-Davidson
Dealer, (ours is Mancuso H-D).
By joining our chapter you will be kept informed of what we are up to
and, if you wish, be a participant in the local Harley-Davidson community.
Since Houston Area #1 is a chapter of national
H.O.G., you must first be a member in good standing with national
H.O.G. Members enjoy many benefits relative to the sport of riding,
and traveling on your Harley. Hog Tales magazine,
The Enthusiast, a quarterly magazine, a pin, a patch and
a Road Atlas annually are some of the benefits of national H.O.G.
The availability of trip routing, insurance, towing reimbursement, Fly
and Ride are other benefits offered to H.O.G. members. Most importantly,
though, as a national member you can join your local chapter.
As a member of Houston Area #1, you become part of a local organization
of riders who share the devotion of riding a Harley-Davidson wherever
the journey leads. Along the way you will have fun, help others
through our work for charities and become a vital member of our growing
family of friends. The people you meet will come from varied backgrounds
and professions and more likely than not become your newest friends.
The experience shared by our chapter members live on through smiling recollections
and unending storytelling. Some of the fodder for these stories
began at such events as:
State rallies, charity rides, chapter challenges, fund raiser events, AutoRama, Bikers for Babies, Bandera Run, Chili Cookoff, dinner rides, campouts, Sturgis-South Dakota, Daytona Bike Week, The California Love Ride, Laughlin Nevada, Gulfport MS, and, of course, the Houston Area #1 Christmas Party.
You don't have to be a member to visit one of our
meetings. We normally meet at 11:30 a.m. on the first Sunday of
each month. Our meeting place is

At the conclusion of the meeting, a ride or several
rides are planned.
The only way you can know what's happening with the most Harleys in Houston
is to join our chapter and receive your free newsletter from Houston
Area #1. Your chapter membership card entitles you and your
guest to attend closed chapter functions such as the Christmas Party.
It's like getting your membership dues back and more! Please read
our Membership Policy.
