Membership Policy
To become a member in our Harley Owners Group or, for that matter, any local H.O.G., one basic requirement must be met. You must be a member of National H.O.G. And, to be considered a member in good standing in both organizations, you must be current with membership dues in each.
It's one thing if you're up-to-date with your national dues, but have slipped in renewing your chapter dues. We have been known to let a member slide a time or two and given consideration when appropriate. However, if your national membership falls into arrears, you are immediately considered a non-member by the folks in Milwaukee. Conversely, your membership in Houston AREA #1 is no longer valid which automatically results in immediate termination from our chapter.
This automatic severance of local membership could also have detrimental affect on the status of your Mancuso H-D/Buell rebate program. Remember, Houston AREA #1 members in good standing who are not working through their probationary period are immediately eligible for the 10% rebate dollars. Mancuso customers who are non-AREA 1 members must rack-up purchases of $1,000 before enjoying the rebate program. So, depending on your level of spending at the time your AREA #1 membership is terminated, you may find yourself "catching-up" to qualify for the 10% rebate offer.
Lastly, if and when the national HOG membership situation is reinstated, you must fill out a new enrollment for Houston AREA #1 and that's another $20! But, more importantly, it means having to start over with the new-member, six-event "probationary" period as well.
The sponsoring dealer may suspend or terminate a person's membership in the sponsored chapter if the sponsoring dealer, in the sponsoring dealer's sole discretion, determines that a member's conduct is undesirable or contrary to the sponsoring dealer's interests.
